COMPRESSORS

The Oil type varies between a reciprocating (Piston) compressor and a Rotary Screw Compressor. In the case of Reciprocating (Piston) Compressors supplied by Bobcor a specific Compressor Oil is used. Shell P100 or an equivalent (Non Detergant Oil) with the same specifications is suitable. NOT Engine or Hydraulic oil.

This can be due to the incorrect Oil being used. Excessive Heat may also cause more carbonization than normal. Ensure the compressor does not run too hot, by ensuring adequate ventilation around the unit.

Insufficient Ventilation. If housed in a compressor room the hot air needs to be removed adequately to decrease the ambient temperature. In many instances the hot air, due to prevailing winds is recycled back into the intake of the compressor and the surrounds which increases the overall temperature. Blocked or over contaminated Intercooler Tubes will also cause overheating. Oil Level too low, Valves leaking, Wrong direction of Rotation.

Clogged or dirty Air Filter, Incorrect Oil or Viscosity too low, Oil Level too high, Piston Rings worn, broken or not staggered, excessive end Gap or side Clearance. (Piston to Cylinder)

Possibly Leaking or Broken Valves. Excessive Carbon build up causing valve not to seat properly. Air Passage restricted.

PAVING BREAKERS & ROCK DRILLS

The required working pressure to operate the equipment efficiently is 6.2 Bar With a maximum of 7.0 Bar, without harming the machinery.

Caltex Rando 100 or an oil with the same or similar specifications. Bobcor Trading offers the RD 100

This can vary from Supplier to Supplier of Paving Breakers. Breakers offered by Bobcor Trading use 32mm Hex with 160mm Shank Length, and the Chipping Hammer / Pick Hammer uses 22mm Hex with 83mm Shank Length.

Generally, for Surface Rock Drills(Blower) a 108mm shank length with a Forged Colar, 22mm Hex Diameter and 11 degree taper are utilized.
